A rebuilt colouring line has started up at Koskisen Oy’s Järvelä plywood mill.
The investment, worth several hundred thousand euros, enables the production of plywood and chipboard panels in colours to suit the needs of the interior decoration and furniture industries.
The panels are coloured one side at a time, making it possible to produce panels with a different colour on each side. To increase the wear resistance of the panels, they can be coated on the hot press after colouring.
“The new line significantly broadens the scope for product customisation and the range of colours on offer for the panels,” said Koskisen managing director Pekka Päkkilä.
“The panels can be coloured precisely to customers’ specifications and produced in limited series – even down to just one can of paint.”
