Blum invests €26.8m in expansion of Dornbirn facilities 23/11/12

An investment volume of €26.8m has been estimated for the expansion of plant 7 of Julius Blum at the location of Dornbirn-Wallenmahd. This ensues from a report in Blum Blättle, a publication for company employees. Preparation work commenced in September 2012, and construction work is planned to start at the beginning of December. A three-storey production building with an underground car park and an additional high-bay warehouse is to be built. The order picking and dispatch area is also to be expanded. Building work is expected to be completed within a period of 24 months. In the case of full utilisation of capacity 430 persons can be employed in plant 7, which serves as a dispatch centre and for the assembly of Aventos flap fitting systems, after expansion measures have been completed. Currently the location, which was commissioned in 2009, has 230 employees.
