Homanit moving its refining activities to Karlino and Krosno 15/12/12

Homann Holzwerkstoffe is planning to focus customisation and refining capacities at its two Polish sites in Karlino and Krosno over the next two years. Its site in Losheim, Germany will thus continue to make HDF, run two varnishing plants and the polishing/sawing combination technology used to make fixed door dimensions. Losheim will lose its downstream operations to customise fixed dimensions, drilling, punching, milling and folding. Homanit hopes that these restructuring plans will enable it to focus more on specific production stages at each site and thus enhance production efficiency. Homanit had previously stopped varnishing products in Krosno after acquiring the activities of the Polish rigid fibreboard manufacturer Hardex at the end of June 2012.
