Value of plywood exports from Latvia grew by 10% in January-October 27/12/2012

In the first ten months of 2012, the total value of Latvia-produced plywood exports increased by 10% from the respective period of 2011, according to data from the Agriculture Ministry's Forest Department, informs LETA/Nozare.lv.

The total value of plywood exports amounted to LVL 92.48 million in January-October 2012, constituting 9% of the total value of forest industry exports. In the first ten months of 2011, plywood exports reached LVL 84.10 million.

Altogether, 212,500 cubic meters of plywood was exported in January-October 2012, compared to 197,000 cubic meters in January-October 2011.

Most of plywood exports, worth LVL 17.45 million, went to Germany (18.9% of total plywood exports), the value of plywood exports to Great Britain was LVL 11.68 million, to France – LVL 7.02 million.

In January-October 2012, the total value of plywood imports decreased 17.4% from the corresponding period of 2011.

The total value of plywood imports amounted to LVL 9.57 million in January-October 2012, compared to LVL 11.59 million in January-October 2011.

31,200 cubic meters of plywood was imported in January-October 2012, compared to 41,800 cubic meters in January-October 2011.

Most of plywood imports – 83.7% (worth LVL 8.02 million) – came from Russia.
