The reconstruction in Nueva Aldea of the Radiata pine plywood plant of the Chilean company Paneles Arauco, which was destroyed by fire in January 2012, is reported by the company to be progressing largely on schedule; approximately 35% of the project have apparently already been completed. According to sources within the company, the production hall has already been built; this time with fireproof concrete. In addition, considerably more fire-fighting facilities are available than were installed in the previous plant.
