In the middle of November companies within the sawmilling industry in Sweden made further announcements of their intention to reduce employee numbers. With reference to the difficult sales conditions on the international softwood lumber markets and inflated log-procurement costs in comparison with the obtainable selling prices, growing numbers of companies are evidently finding themselves left with no option but to reduce their output and adjust their employee numbers accordingly.
