Siljan Timber withdraws Sveg sawmill from market 30/01/2013
Siljan has ceased sawmill operations at its small-diameter-timber sawmill in Sveg until further notice and dismissed the work force of 25. According to Swedish media reports, Siljan justifies this step primarily with insufficient supplies of raw materials within the group and not with a lack of profitability at the mill. The pine sawmill, which boasts production capacity of roughly 60,000 m³ of lumber per year, together with the Bybergssågen sawmill in Älvdalen, is owned by Blyberg Sveg, a subsidiary of Siljan.
